An Awesome Chip!

Like most Americans, I love a good potato chip. But, I'm very fussy. I actually expect potato chips to taste like potatoes. --- Sadly, that rarely happens. Most potato chips seem to be nothing more than a vehicle for delivering salt and fat. But, I recently came across an OUTSTANDING potato chip, in the unlikeliness of places.

I hate to admit to frequenting Walmart, but it happens. And that's where I found the best commercially-produced potato chips I've yet to sink my teeth into: World Table Yukon Gold Salt & Pepper Potato Chips ($2.48/6 oz).

These are thick spuds with a nice snap when you bite into them, tossed with nothing more than pepper and a modicum of salt. Unlike most potato chips, these are not over-salted. In fact, they have a slightly sweet tang to them, thanks to the black pepper. But best of all, they really taste like potatoes. Imagine that. The only way you could get fresher potato flavor is to make your own chips at home.

So, although I don't want to shill for Walmart, every now and then we do have to buy underwear or garden tools. When that happens, pick up a bag of World Table Yukon Gold chips. Bet you can't eat just one!
