Loads of laughs, beats and art are on tap Thursday night.---

The Art Access 300 Plates fundraiser is tonight, offering art lovers the chance to get original works by a slew of Utah's best contemporary artists, all while raising money for the excellent Art Access programs. If you've never been, consider it a must-do for any Salt Laker.  I have a couple of killer plates I've bought there over the years.

For those looking for some tunes, a double-bill of soul and funk is on tap at The State Room, via Soulive and Lettuce, Starmy headlines at The Urban Lounge, and KRCL presents the finals of a Beat Battle at Bar Deluxe, where some of Utah's best DJs and producers will face off to claim the prize as the ultimate SLC beat master.

At Brewvies Thursday, you can catch a free screening of the hilarious Robert Downey Jr./Val Kilmer vehicle Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. If you've never seen this surprisingly entertaining flick penned by the guy who wrote the original Lethal Weapon, hop to it!

Comedian Dan Cummins starts a three-night stand at the Trolley Square Wiseguys. The Idaho native now based in Spokane has been a regular on the western comedy circuit for nearly a decade, has a couple of albums on Warner Bros. and is always good for some hearty laughs.
