Sweating for a Good Cause

This weekend, you can raise money to help a local woman battle cancer in a ‘80s-themed 5k run. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a better excuse to look ridiculous in your Reagan-era leg warmers than this great local charity event.---

The Sweatin’ for Sarah event is a 5k run with proceeds to benefit local Salt Lake City woman Sarah Hays Shurtz, who is battling through stage-four cancer. The run is $25 and comes with a shirt and post-run snack. The event will also include a $1 raffle with prizes. The race itself is for runners of all abilities and will start and end at Highland High School.

For information on registering or volunteering for the event, visit the Sweatin’ for Sarah page here.

The race itself will start this Saturday, Aug. 27, at 8 a.m. at Highland High School, 2166 S. 1700 East.
