We need your help.

Newspapers and media companies nationwide are closing or suffering mass layoffs since the coronavirus impacted all of us starting in March. City Weekly's entire existence is directly tied to people getting together in groups--in clubs, restaurants, and at concerts and events--which are the industries most affected by new coronavirus regulations.

Our industry is not healthy. Yet, City Weekly has continued publishing thanks to the generosity of readers like you. Utah needs independent journalism more than ever, and we're asking for your continued support of our editorial voice. We are fighting for you and all the people and businesses hardest hit by this pandemic.

Garlic Miracle! Peel a head of garlic in seconds

Recently, a foodie friend sent me a link to a video on the Saveur magazine Web site. It was a short video of a guy peeling an entire head of garlic. And, I do mean short video -- he peeled the garlic in a matter of seconds, using no special tools. ---

Well, I still wasn't sure I believed what I was seeing on the video. So, I decided to try the technique myself, and capture it on video for everyone to see.

I can guarantee that there are no special tricks or smoke and mirrors involved here. It really works! This method of peeling garlic might just be the single most useful kitchen time-saver I've ever come across.

Check it out (sorry for the crappy audio):
