Green Thumbs Wanted Saturday

Millcreek will have a garden party Saturday, looking for green thumbs in the neighborhood to help out at Benjamin Franklin Park. With spring coming, there are plenty of other community gardens in the county also looking for some tending.---

The Millcreek Township is helping kick off the Salt Lake County Mayor’s Open Space and Urban Farming 2012 season with a celebration and work party Saturday. Help sow the seeds of community involvement in Millcreek by attending the gathering, and also take the opportunity to learn more about the other community-garden projects in the county like the Harmony Garden in South Salt Lake and Magna’s Garden in Copper Park.

To get your hands dirty helping out in Millcreek, check out the garden work party Saturday, March 24 at 4 p.m. at Benjamin Franklin Park, 900 E. 3532 South.
