We need your help.

Newspapers and media companies nationwide are closing or suffering mass layoffs since the coronavirus impacted all of us starting in March. City Weekly's entire existence is directly tied to people getting together in groups--in clubs, restaurants, and at concerts and events--which are the industries most affected by new coronavirus regulations.

Our industry is not healthy. Yet, City Weekly has continued publishing thanks to the generosity of readers like you. Utah needs independent journalism more than ever, and we're asking for your continued support of our editorial voice. We are fighting for you and all the people and businesses hardest hit by this pandemic.

You can help by making a one-time or recurring donation on, which directs you to our Galena Fund 501(c)(3) non-profit, a resource dedicated to help fund local journalism. It is never too late. It is never too little. Thank you. DONATE

Glad You Asked: Ken Jennings, Brides and Eve 6

Dear GYA, I hear they used hologram technology at Coachella. Wow, that's really cool. You know, I've been doing shows since 1985 using my holographic earrings and no one seems to remember that little nugget of truth. Seriously, I haven't been this pissed since Barbie & the Rockers ripped me off back in '87. - Jem & The Holograms---

Jem, you have to realize that modern technology eventually will catch up with your awesome '80s earrings. As for Barbie, you should take it easy on her, she's been engaged to Ken for like 50 years now. Anyways, here are some things happening today that should make you feel better.

Jeopardy champion Ken Jennings will be holding a signing for his new book Maphead at The King's English Bookshop tonight at 7 p.m. His last book, Brainiac, was all about the wild world of trivia; however, this time around Jennings gives readers a glimpse into his other obsession, geography.
