We're putting a slight spin on this week's Wine Wednesday blog and turning our attention to whiskey -- specifically, High West Distillery whiskey. Park City's High West Distillery and Saloon features whiskey specials each and every Wednesday. --- But this Wednesday (August 1) is really special.
From 9 to 11:30 p.m., San Francisco transplants Free Peoples will be playing live. Free Peoples has been one of the Bay Area's favorite Americana bands and this is their first time playing in Park City. Their music conjures up images of the Wild West, and is said to also "take you on a journey to Mars and back before depositing you safely back by your campfire."
In addition to live tunes from Free Peoples, High West Distillery and Saloon will feature a Whiskey Wednesday special this and every Wednesday: a gourmet burger paired with a featured whiskey at a cost never more than $18 for both.
The current High West burger special is an Alpine Swiss burger in honor of Swiss National Day: a blend of Organic Niman Ranch beef and Rolling Hill Ranch bison with caramelized whiskey onions, raclette cheese and wild mushrooms on a housemade caraway brioche roll. "Whiskey" Dave Perkins suggests pairing the burger with his new High West Campfire Whiskey. The featured burger and whiskey special runs from 6 to 10 p.m..
