Mark your social calendar for Monday, Sept. 24. That's when Provo's Communal Restaurant will host a four-course beer-pairing dinner featuring Epic Brewery beers. --- In attendance will be Epic brewmaster Kevin Crompton, who will debut Epic's new Fermentation Without Representation beer, an Imperial Pumpkin Porter.

The menu and beer pairings are:

Allred Orchard's pickled-peach salad with Shepherd Valley goat cheese and candied mustard, paired with Straight-Up Saison

Slow-braised Christiansen's pork belly with stout and brewer spices, paired with Cap'n Crompton's Pale Ale

Pan-roasted Bristol Bay scallops with Diamond Fork beef shank marmalade and La Nay Ferme squash puree, paired with Pfeifferhorn Lager

Valrona lava cake with spiced pumpkin ice cream and sesame-seed brittle, paired with Fermentation Without Representation Imperial Pumpkin Porter

The cost is $40 for dinner and $20 for the optional beer pairings. Reservations must be made by Monday, Sept. 17, by calling 801-652-0139 or emailing Chris@communalrestaurant.com.
