Glad You Asked: Christmas Day Options

Dear GYA, Family time is officially over. The magic of new socks and collared shirts from Ross's has officially lost its luster. If I have to spend one more second in this god-forsaken house, I'm gonna eat a pound of Christmas cookies until I pass out. I'll do it. Please give me a reason to leave the house. - Steve Plumchild, Orem---

Steve, Christmas is a time for spending no more than three days with your family; after all, Ben Franklin once said, "House guests are like fish; if you eat to much, you'll expose yourself to high levels of MSG," or something like that. Here's some decent stuff to do:

- Zest Kitchen & Bar is throwing a Christmas Cocktail and Dance Party. Get ready for some throwback soul music, with another addition of Soulville; an evening hosted by resident funk conductors DJ Feral Cat and Cherchez La Femme. The doors open at 9.

- Burt's Tiki Lounge is going strong with two nights in a row of X-Mas Karaoke. The singin' starts at 9.

- Zermatt Resort is offering up a Christmas Brunch at 11 a..m. at the Z's Steak and Chop Haus. Hey, it beats Chinese food. Reservations are required.

- Of course, there's always the option of seeing a movie. Here are all the showtimes and movies for today.
