Provo Soul Man Shows National Audience His Helluva Voice

Last night, local blue-eyed soulster and beard enthusiast Ryan Innes, on a highly anticipated spot on prime time TV, scored big on The Voice.---

It’s true, The Voice has a soft spot for the Beehive State. Royal Bliss’ frontman Neal Middleton has been on the show, Dia Frampton (of Meg & Dia) finished as runner-up on the first season and many others have tried.

But, Innes sets himself apart with a velvety Stax-esque smoothness that is as rich and warm as the man himself. It’s been a big year for Innes, who, most notably, won a competition and landed himself an opening gig at the Stadium of Fire show in Provo last year featuring The Beach Boys.

So, Innes tried out for NBC’s The Voice weeks ago, and he and his fans have been giddy with excitement for his spot to air, which it finally did last night, Monday, April 8.

But without further ado, I’ll let the singer himself announce the big news, as he did on his Facebook page:

“AAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT THE H@#L is going on around here!!!!????? Team Usher!??! WHAT!!??! Holy Freaking Moly! I'm on THE VOICE!! I need to sit, and eat something. A whole bag, plate, crate of it. Love you guys! Love you guys!”

Yes, Innes has been picked by the singing & dancing pop/R&B star. We’re sure that he’ll encourage the Utah County big man to take it “Nice & Slow.”

To watch the song that landed him on Team Usher and for a little interview with the crooner, go here.
