On Friday, July 11, The Goldener Hirsch Inn & Restaurant in Deer Valley will host what sounds like a unique, fun and tasty wine dinner. --- Winemaker Douglas McCombs, of Utah's Iron Gate Winery, will be on hand to discuss his wines and to pour four of them to accompany a pork-centered menu created by Goldener Hirsch chef Ryan Burnham.

The "Pork & Cork" event will take place on the Goldener Hirsch patio, which looks out upon scenic Deer Valley. Chef Burnham will prepare two locally-raised Niman Ranch hogs, brined in local honey and aromatics, slow-roasted over a wood fire, and served with side dishes and fixings.

For dessert, there will be chocolates, griddled bacon-brown sugar bread pudding and chocolate fondue.

The Iron Gate wines being poured  are 2005 Tempranillo, 2009 Roussanne, 2012 Riesling, and 2009 Late Harvest Zinfandel.

The Pork & Cork dinner begins at 7:00 PM and tickets are $95 per person including dinner, wine pairings, tax and gratuity.

To reserve your spot, call the Goldener Hirsch Inn at 800-252-3373.
