Wine Wednesday: Hallo-Wine @ BTG Wine Bar

The missus and I popped into BTG Wine Bar the other night and I was impressed by many of the new wines and interesting wine flights that are now offered there. Since sommelier/manager Louis Koppel came on board, BTG has really stepped up its wine selections.

One of the flights I really enjoyed is called "Italian Gems." It's a tasting of three Italian reds: Tenuta Sant Antonio "Scaia" Corvina 2012; Agricola Querciabella "Mongrana 2010"; and Masseria Li Veli Susumanielo 2011. I especially liked the Mongrana, a juicy blend of 50% Sangiovese, 25% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Well, BTG is turning Halloween into Hallo-Wine this Friday night, October 31st. From 5 p.m. to closing BTG will be creating spooky cocktails, offering freaky wine flights, and hosting a costume contest. Maybe I could come as a wine snob?

Throughout the evening there will be giveaways of wine bags, sweets, Champagne stoppers, wine keys (aka corkscrews) and other wine-related trinkets and prizes.

To reserve your spot at the party call BTG Wine Bar at 801-359-2814.
