We need your help.

Newspapers and media companies nationwide are closing or suffering mass layoffs since the coronavirus impacted all of us starting in March. City Weekly's entire existence is directly tied to people getting together in groups--in clubs, restaurants, and at concerts and events--which are the industries most affected by new coronavirus regulations.

Our industry is not healthy. Yet, City Weekly has continued publishing thanks to the generosity of readers like you. Utah needs independent journalism more than ever, and we're asking for your continued support of our editorial voice. We are fighting for you and all the people and businesses hardest hit by this pandemic.

Wiseguys Comedy new downtown location opens Dec. 2

Live comedy returns to downtown Salt Lake City in December, as Wiseguys Comedy opens its new venue on Dec. 2.

According to the Wiseguys website, the new downtown location—replacing the Trolley Square location, which closed earlier this year—will open on the ground floor of the newly-renovated Broadway Media building at 50 W. 300 South, Suite #100. Though the website identifies Dec. 2 as the opening date, the first comedian on the schedule is NBC Last Comic Standing alum Joe Machi, on Dec. 4 - 6.

Additional big names are already scheduled for the venue in early 2015, including Pauly Shore, Brian Posehn and Demetri Martin. Visit WiseguysComedy.com for full schedule and to buy tickets.
