Dear GYA, Tonight a very special and rare event is about to happen, Salt Lake City's show promoters have come into perfect alignment, thus filling our city's music venues with a bounty of garage rock shows.  It only happens once every couple months, but should be celebrated nonetheless. - Giselle Juster, Salt Lake City

Giselle, this is true. Also, once a week, usually Tuesdays, the local bars come together for trivia night. But here's the details about tonight's garage rock shows.

British garage rock/ surf band The Wytches will be at Kilby Court tonight. Max Pain & The Groovies will open up. The show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $8.

Los Angeles-based rock band Dorothy will be at The Urban Lounge tonight for a free show. The Features, Chappo and Tristen are also on the bill.

Diabolical Records will be hosting Purling Hiss, The Nods, Chalk and Swamp Ravens tonight at 8 p.m. Tickets are $5. UPDATE: This show has been cancelled due to weather.
