Dear GYA, As you get older, your tastes become more refined. For example, I only buy locally roasted Sumatra coffee beans, I love my 50/50 polyblend llama-fiber hiking socks and I prefer to listen to harcore-based, black metal with hints of deathrock and mellow, yet gothy undertones. Anything happening today for a choosy metalhead? - Kelly Fustron, Salt Lake City

Kelly, I know what you mean, I only buy my wallet chains for local blacksmiths. Luckily for you, Chicago-based metal band Wolvhammer is playing at Area 51 this evening. King Parrot will open up. The show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15.

A few other options for tonight:

Local alt-rock band Eighth Day will be at 5 Monkeys. The show starts at 9 p.m. Expect a cover.

Nashville indie-pop band Stereo Sparks will be at Cisero's in Park City this evening. The show starts at 10 p.m.
