• Individual play tickets for the remainder of the Pioneer Theatre Company 2016-2017 go on sale today on the company’s website. Productions remaining include Tennessee Williams’ The Glass Menagerie, the musical Oliver!, August Wilson’s Fences, the concert performance of Chess and The Will Rogers Follies.

• One of the most important literary works in history makes a stop in Utah as Shakespeare's First Folio—on tour from the Folger Shakespeare Library—takes up residence at the Salt Lake City Main Library. Kickoff events on Saturday, Oct. 8 include an all-ages-appropriate intro to Shakespeare from Utah Children's Theater, and a performance by Utopia Early Music.

• It's already time for Utah locals to start thinking about the 2017 Sundance Film Festival. Local ticket packages go on sale on Oct. 25 until they are sold out—and they usually sell out quickly.

• Fans of HGTV's popular Property Brothers show get a chance to see the titular brothers up close and in person this weekend. Drew and Jonathan Scott will be appearing at the Deseret News Home Show Saturday at 1 p.m.; the  full event runs Oct. 7-9 at the Sandy Expo Center.

• Tonight (Oct. 5), the Salt Lake Film Society and Salt Lake Community College present a free screening of Singin' in the Rain at 6 p.m., followed by a discussion about the film with SLCC faculty.
