Jam-packed Saturday in local women's roller derby comin' at ya: Up Layton way, Ogden's Junction City Roller Dolls play their first bout of the 2010 season; in Salt Lake City, Wasatch Roller Derby play their third (and, technically, fourth). ---

Also, Wasatch Roller Derby plays a double-header charity bout at the Salt Palace (100 S. West Temple) in SLC this Saturday: First, Black Onyx takes on Blue Steel at 7 pm, followed by another bout featuring WRD's Midnight Terror taking on--get this--new men's league Uinta Madness. No word on whether the victor of that bout will go on to face the WRD childrens' Junior Wasatch Rollers (who'll be providing the halftime show) or a new pets' league to be determined at a later date. A portion of the proceeds will go the Huntsman Cancer Foundation; tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door, kids 5 and under free. Tickets and info: WasatchRollerDerby.com.

As always, the comprehensive local roller-derby schedule can be found on Utah Roller Derby: 2010 Preview in the Sports Blog.
