A bevy of activities out there this weekend, starting with Friday night's SLC Gallery Stroll and a visit by everyone's favorite war criminal to sign a book that I doubt he's read.---

Yes, George Dubya is coming to Costco in Sandy Friday afternoon at 1 p.m. to sign copies of his new tome, Decision Points. Ain't it funny that a guy who seemed proud of the fact he never read a position paper before being, ahem, "elected" president is now asking us to buy a book he allegedly wrote? (And on a side note, why is former SLC mayor Rocky Anderson holding a protest of Bush at Pioneer Park, instead of at the Costco where Shrub is actually appearing? That makes no sense to me, but whatevski.)

Tonight is the SLC Gallery Stroll from 6 to 9 p.m., and there are great shows across the valley. Be sure to check out Brittney Flores work at Mestizo Coffee House, or Karen Horne's paintings of SLC nightlifte at the Horne Fine Arts gallery.

On the music tip Friday, plenty of options, from Toro Y Moi, playing with Nosaj Thing at The Urban Lounge, to The Moaners, playing with David Dondero at Kilby Court, to the excellent Hillstomp (pictured), headlining at Piper Down. Max Pain & the Groovies are holding a CD release show, and standup comic Nick Thune is performing at Wiseguys on Friday.

Saturday, check out the impressive gospel project The Lower Lights, headlining at the Post Theater at the U, and Cameron Rafati headlines a fundraiser for the Utah Food Bank at In The Venue.

Sunday, check out Lovers at Kilby Court, or the orchestral pop of Margot and the Nuclear So-and-So's at The Urban Lounge.
