Deer Valley Resort has opened the Deer Valley Grocery-Cafe in the location previously occupied by the Stew Pot, in the Deer Valley Plaza Building at the entrance to Deer Valley. --- I stopped by yesterday to check out the offerings, which include on-site and to-go freshly baked pastries and breads, famous Deer Valley Turkey Chili, stews (like beef bourguignon), salads, paninis, soups and a variety of gourmet grocery items, including wine, beer and liquor. The latter -- alcohol -- is available for takeout only. But, it's a nice convenience for folks staying in or around Deer Valley who don't want to have to drive into town for booze.

Some of the other featured products include half-pound Niman Ranch burgers, farm fresh eggs, Creminelli's artisan salami, dried pastas, homemade ice cream sandwiches (yum!), dips, salsas, hummus, homemade sausages and bratwurst, fresh coffee and assorted teas, specialty pizzas and more, like Deer Valley signature items (vinaigrettes, mustards, mugs, cookie mix and so on).

I enjoyed a killer Italian panini at the Grocery-Cafe on homemade bread with oregano aioli, and the service was very friendly and fast. Overall, this is a nice, convenient spot to enjoy breakfast, lunch or an early dinner, with plenty of free parking and easy access. Or, grab some grub to take home and enjoy it there.
