Glad You Asked: Pride Pageants and Donkeys

Dear GYA, I can't believe I got cut from my indoor-football team. Damn, I own that team! I suppose people get all upset when T.O. don't show up for games. Shoot, I don't know what the big deal is, we're talking about football games here -- not reality TV or commercials, but football games! Well, since I got nothin' to do today, what's happen'? -Terrell Owens---

Terrell, it makes zero sense that you got cut. I mean, no one signs a guy like you to play football. Nope, you sign T.O. for the off-field antics -- that's what the people want. It's too bad, but I'm sure there's a flag-football team out there that'll pick you up. Here's what's goin' down today:

The 2012 Miss City Weekly Pride Pageant will be going on at Club Elevate. The annual pageant highlights the most talented, drop-dead-gorgeous drag queens Utah has to offer, and features performances by DJ Jesse Walker, Aaron Swenson of Plan-B Theatre and Drew and Gorgeous Jared. The doors open at 8 p.m.

The San Diego indie-rock crew The Donkeys will be holding down Urban Lounge tonight. The Donkeys are reminiscent of rock groups like Pavement, Grateful Dead and Buffalo Springfield. If you've never heard of The Donkeys, you may have unknowingly spotted them on ABC's hit show Lost as the fictional band Geronimo Jackson. Advance Base and The Poorwills are kicking things off. The show starts at 9 p.m.

Other worthwhile events happening today:

- The Ken Garff MS Open will be happening today at Thanksgiving Point; tee-off is 8 a.m.

- Stand-up comedian Kyle Kinane of the Comedians of Comedy will be performing at Wiseguys Trolley Square this evening.

- The Salt Lake Bees will be facing off with the Colorado Springs Sky Sox. The first pitch is at 6:35 p.m.
