Music at Main Lineup Announced

The library is a source for discovery, information and growth. And that’s not just with books. Get schooled this summer in a little subject called local music.---

Similar to the music at the weekly Saturday Downtown Farmers Market, the Music at Main Series is a killer spot to catch up-and-coming talent. This is where, over the past few years, I’ve first caught a few of my current favorite local acts -- Matteo and Folka Dots, among others.

The folks at The City Library do a mighty-fine job booking talent, which is currently done by librarian Stephanie Costa, and formerly done for three years by Andrew Shaw, senior creative producer of The City Library. This year is no different. I’m looking forward to checking out a few bands I’ve never seen, like Bright Whistles, Color Animal and Four Leaves Left, while also catching up again with some stalwarts of the local scene, like Theta Naught, The Suicycles, Tolchock Trio and Birthquake (pictured above).

The free shows are Tuesdays, beginning at 7 p.m. at the City Library Amphitheater.

July 3
Gary Stoddard & The Usual Suspects

July 10
Palace of Buddies, Bright Whistles
