We need your help.

Newspapers and media companies nationwide are closing or suffering mass layoffs since the coronavirus impacted all of us starting in March. City Weekly's entire existence is directly tied to people getting together in groups--in clubs, restaurants, and at concerts and events--which are the industries most affected by new coronavirus regulations.

Our industry is not healthy. Yet, City Weekly has continued publishing thanks to the generosity of readers like you. Utah needs independent journalism more than ever, and we're asking for your continued support of our editorial voice. We are fighting for you and all the people and businesses hardest hit by this pandemic.

Brandi Carlile is bringing her stellar band and bluesy croon back to Salt Lake City this winter for a two-show, one-night run. ---

Sure, a lot of artists say Salt Lake City is their favorite stop, but when 31-year-old singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile says it, you can’t help but think it’s sincere. And Salt Lakers love her, too -- every show sells out.

A Carlile concert is full of charm, jokes and dancing, not to mention her killer repertoire of tunes. She performed to a sold-out Red Butte Garden crowd this summer. Read a review here.

She returns for a one-night engagement at The State Room on Friday, Dec. 14. Doors open at 6 p.m., with music at 7 p.m. for the early show. Doors open at 9:30 p.m., with music at 10 p.m. for the late show. Tickets will be on sale Friday, Nov. 9 at 10 a.m. and are $42.
