Dear GYA, The Oscars are this weekend and without a doubt, everyone has one question on their mind, will this be the year Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol finally wins an Oscar for best picture? I'm not sure how this whole Oscar thing works, but I do know that back in 2011, movie-goers were wowed with director Brad Bird's action packed blockbuster.--- Anything happening today better than Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol? - Doug Joustine, Cottonwood Heights

Doug, um, yeah...I suppose Ghost Protocol could win best picture. Worse things have happened. Here's what's up for tonight:

Rapper and former Jurassic 5 frontman Chali 2na will be on stage at Urban Lounge this evening. Scenic Byway and DJ Planit are also on the bill. The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $18.

Pop-rock band Paradise Fears will be at Kilby Court tonight. Sunderland is also performing. The doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25. 

Pioneer Theatre Company's presentation of Much Ado About Nothing will be going down tonight at 7:30 p.m. Tickets start at $29.
