Dear GYA, Rick Perry wants to send 1000 troops to patrol our border, which I think is a great idea ... Canadians are the worst. Next thing you know they're gonna be taking all the jobs, everything is gonna be covered in syrup and they're gonna make everybody talk in French-Canadian. We speak English in America, damn it. Silas,  I think you should know that ... never mind. Yeah, Canada is awful. Here's what's going down today: 

The 1986 John Hughes classic Ferris Bueller's Day Off will be shown on the outdoor stage at The Gallivan Center tonight. The show starts at 8:45 p.m. Admission is free! 


The Salt Lake Bees are taking on the Reno Aces tonight at Smith's Ballpark. The game starts at 6:30 p.m. Tickets start at $10. 

Grammy Award winners Pat Metheny and Bruce Hornsby will be at Red Butte Gardens. The show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $47. 

Indie-folk band Cotton Jones will be at Kilby Court this evening. New God is also on the bill. The show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10. 

Devil's Daughter is hosting Geeks Who Drink pub trivia tonight. The quizzin' starts at 8 p.m. Admission is free!
